Amy Feng is one of Channel 3 News' star reporters. She is often the first media at the scene of any fight, and gained a certain amount of fame herself a year ago for stopping a supervillain in mid-fight to ask him why he was hurling cars.

Most recently, Feng gained acclaim for reporting at ground zero in downtown Freedom City during a battle between Freedom Watch, assisted by members of a relatively new superhero group called The Unnaturals, and a British superhero known as Tez, who had apparently been mind-controlled to attack the city. Feng maintained her cool head as the city was literally bursting into flames around her, and came back with potentially award-winning footage of BlueJay healing Feng's cameraman, Peter Waylon, moments after he received what otherwise would have been fatal injuries from a thrown fire hydrant. Originally broadcast in its entirety, the network later cut a terse exchange between Feng and BlueJay when the superheroine told Feng, "Are ya thick? Get that camera out'ta the way, I'm tryin' t' save a man's life here."

During the battle, Feng also acquired relatively rare footage of Freedom Watch's quietest member, Envoy, apparently removing Tez's mind control while Ginny Nettle and Galatea of the Unnaturals contain the destruction.

This is, notably, not the first time BlueJay and Feng have crossed words. During one of Freedom Watch's earliest press conferences, the plainspoken superheroine became frustrated by the newswoman's persistent questions, and told her that she didn't have the temper to deal with that line of question, excusing her shortness as "women's issues." Feng handled the snub with decent grace, and BlueJay became a cause célèbre with women's rights groups, who lauded her frank acknowledgement that being a superhero didn't mean you had to stop being a woman.
