This directory contains information on the individuals of whom we have taken notice that do not fall into the categories of superhero or supervillain. They range from important persons like mayors and district attorneys to innocent bystanders and petty criminals. With perhaps one or two exceptions, they do not have known super powers. It may be, given the nature of secret identities, that not everyone listed here is exactly what they seem...

Claremont Academy

The Claremont Academy is a prestigious private school in the Bayview Heights area of Freedom City. Although its numbers have dwindled in the past decade as other, more modern private schools have opened up nearby, it still maintains considerable grounds and facilities due to the support of private donors.

The Academy occasionally provides scholarships to those who could otherwise not afford to attend it; these scholarships are offered individually, by order of Academy Headmaster Professor Xenon.

Aja Shiro

Aja Shiro is a cousin of Vincent Shiro who is currently traveling with him during the winter break, and may enroll in the Academy for the next semester. That she and Vincent are related is clear, as they bear a striking resemblance to each other.

Ang Da-wa Norgay

Ang Da-wa Norgay is a new exchange student from Tibet who will be studying at the Claremont Academy. His first course of study will be English.

Brian Tufala

Brian Tufala, the "Samoan Superman," is a student at the Claremont Academy. He has the typical Samoan dark brown eyes, black hair, and stocky build. What isn't typical about this teenager is that he can also fly and lift things like 18-wheelers singlehandedly.

Family


• Brian Tufala suffered tragedy recently when his entire family - parents Malavai and Onosa'i and both sisters (older sister Kayla, middle sister Ali'itasi) - died in a plane crash into the Pacific ocean. Although Brian inherited his family's property in Freedom City, he has chosen to board with the Claremont Academy until his memories become less painful.

• He broke more than a few hearts when he went on a radio talk show for people seeking romantic advice, looking for a girl who could see past his powers to the man inside.
  
• The World Wrestling Entertainment once approached his parents about recruiting the then-eight-year-old for a series of "super-bouts." His parents rejected the offer, citing their desire to give their son as normal a childhood as possible.
  
• Brian considered becoming a superhero, but after one ill-fated attempt at finding a suitable team to fight with, decided instead to use his powers in the more profitable field of business. In a ground-breaking move for superpowered humans, he became an entrepreneur at age 16, launching suborbital flights for private interests.
  
• He is fluent in English, Samoan, and Pidgin (the Samoan slanguage).

Gwynn Scott

Gwynn Scott is a student at the Claremont Academy. She has the quintessential Celtic red hair and green eyes.

• Daughter of Roderick and Lily Scott (both deceased). Gwynn's parents and younger sister, Carlie, died tragically late last year when their house was the target of an IRA bombing. Gwynn, currently an exchange student in Freedom City, and her older brother Thomas, who had recently moved to Wales, were the only members of the immediate family to survive.

Jules X is a teenager of indeterminate Caucasian origin who apparently fell into a fissure in the earth when the Mauna Loa Volcano erupted and was trapped there for almost a week before hikers discovered and rescued her. She is reportedly a student at the Claremont Academy in Freedom City who was visiting relatives in Hawai'i.

Marlene Stingray

Marlene Stingray is a student at the Claremont Academy. She has strawberry-blonde hair and blue-grey eyes.

Family

Marlene's father is the famous Austrian Dr. Erik Stingray, world renowned for his work on androids and artificial intelligence. Her Danish mother is Dr. Lisbet Pedersen, also famous in the same field, but less renowned. They are currently missing. The Stingrays have another daughter who is also missing.


A few years ago, Stingray Enterprises was bought by an as-yet unidentified party.

Marlene was raised in Japan.


Marlene is a model student, learning quickly and obedient to her teachers.


Marlene also has a keen interest in fashion.


She currently does not have a boyfriend.

Nikolai Ivanovich Volodya

Nikolai Volodya is a student at the Claremont Academy and son of the late Ivan Alexseiovich Volodya. He has blonde hair and green eyes.

Family


Nikolai's father was killed last year in a terrorist bombing at the Freedom City embassy. His mother, Anya Petrova Volodya, is currently attaché to the Russian ambassador in Paris. His parents divorced when he was little, and to date Anya has made no effort to regain custody. The only other living "relative" he has, Uncle Misha, is actually just a friend of the family, General Mikhail Borodin Yurikov. Under the terms of his father's will, Nikolai is currently a ward of the Russian embassy.

• As an ambassador's son, he travelled frequently, and has lived in Minsk, St. Petersburg, Leningrad, The Hague, Kyiv, and Madrid.
  
• He nearly died from the mumps when he was eight.

• He was once used as a hostage/shield by notorious criminal The Crush. She later showed up at his presidential campaign party, but only to dance with him.

Vincent Shiro

Vincent Shiro is a student at the Claremont Academy, currently spending a semester studying abroad.

Vincent is the only child of Katsuya and Takiko Shiro, and grandson of noted occult researcher Mototsugu Shiro.

Vincent grew up outside the Japanese area of Hokhaido, near Sapporo.

His grandfather paid for the scholarship that sent him to Freedom City.

Before he went abroad, Vincent was juggling two girlfriends, Mai and Jessica.

Vincent's first name is actually Aya.

Yvette Jones

Another student at the Claremont Academy. She has long black hair and blue eyes, and is known for her "Goth" style of dress. She is a gifted student, earning top marks on projects and exams, but she is sometimes disobedient and cuts class with some frequency.

• Yvette is an orphan. She states that her parents were killed when she was very young, but says little else about her family. She has Emancipated Minor status, granting her a degree of latitude that most teenagers lack.

The daughter of Kostas Makris, Danae works in her father's jewelry and antique store in the Theseum district of Athens. She is 27 years old, tall for a Greek (about 5'9", or 1.75 meters), and lanky, with thin lips, a prominent nose, blue eyes, and straight black hair. Her close English-speaking friends call her Dani.
